The year 2016 is reaching its full cycle soon … I hope everyone had a good year and looking forward positively to the coming 2017 year.
Our family had just came back from the family vacation. This year we went to Phuket, Thailand. It was a 4d3n trip and we went with my 3rd sis’s family. From the 17th-20th December 2016,
Our families decided to stay in a villa that allows us all to stay together under one roof. We chose Indochine Resort (pronouns as Indochin). They upgraded our booking from 4 bedrooms to 5 bedrooms. We were not informed about it and so when we arrived it was a wonderful surprise cos it allows more room and comfort for us all.
The villa is a two storey building. The first floor comprises of a living room and 3 bedrooms with accompanying bathrooms each.
The second floor comprises of 2 bedrooms and bathrooms (very huge bathrooms), a living room, a dining & kitchenette, a common toilet and a swimming pool.
We took off from Singapore at 2.30 pm and arrived at Phuket one and a half hour later.
The airport transfer journey to the resort took us about 1 hour. The Indochine Resort is near Patong and Kata Karon Beaches.
This is our first time to Phuket, and I was happy to see that its rustic sceneries are so familiar to me cos its similar to small towns in Malaysia and Indonesia.
After checking in and had a rest for a bit, we went to Jungceylon, a nearby shopping mall. We had our dinner at the eateries at the basement of the shopping mall. Alhamdulillah, there were 2 stalls selling halal certified Thai foods. The dishes were delicious and we thorougly enjoyed eating them.
On the 2nd day, we hired a van for 8 hours to bring us around the city. Our first stop was to Bang Mut Seafood Kelong. The journey was about 45 mins and upon reaching the Koh Yao Yai Pier, we had to board a boat to bring us across to the Kelong.
Bang Mut Seafood is a muslim operated kelong. The foods served were so fresh … the prawns and crabs were big and juicy. All of us simply loved the dishes served to us. Price was reasonably cheap…..definitely cannot get that kind of price in Singapore.
After the wonderful lunch, we went for a city tour …. we did our shopping at the same time and I must say that the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially when we went to the weekend night market. Woohoo!! Even I loved that night market. There were plenty of halal foods sold ….. Phuket has many muslims and so finding halal foods was not an issue for us. We did more shopping spree at the night market hahaha… 😉
On the 3rd day, we woke up early to go for island hopping to Phi Phi Island and a few other smaller islands.
The kids enjoyed the snorkeling session. I did try the snorkeling but did a bad job at it cos I took a fright while in the water. Twice I went into the sea and twice I did not stay more than 5 mins hehehe…..somehow being in the deep sea and floating using the float still brought phobia to me. I did manage to see the corals for a few seconds though.
On the 4th day, we took our time to rest in the villa. The kids spent time swimming in the pool and we went to Jungceylon again before we checked out.
We reached home sweet home around 1 am in the morning.
Alhamdulilllah … it was an enjoyable trip. The people of Phuket were indeed very friendly and helpful. We even had enjoyable time interacting with other tourists from different countries.
We are now going to start our saving again and plan the next trip. Insya’Allah hoping to go for another family vacation in 2 years time 🙂
