A day trip to the Singapore National Museum and ‘The Future of Us’ exhibition.
First stop was the SNM …. since it is free entrance for all Singaporean, we went to all the halls including the Treasure of the World which showcase artifacts from the British Museum in London.
Here are some shots of the artifacts that can be found in the museum. Could not took shots that are better due to the lighting.
Above: a piece of wood, called Siwak. Use by muslims to brush their teeth
Years ago these were the bottles sold for soft drinks
After touring the museum, we proceed to have lunch at Harbour Front before making our move to Garden by the Bay, to see the exhibition : The Future of Us! This exhibition is also free but requires registration. I enjoyed the multi-sensory experience and learning what the future could offer us. At the end of the sessions, there was a play area with swings. The kids and I enjoyed swinging ourselves on the swings … and when you swing to a certain height, bubble foam with different shapes will emerged and floated into the air. Its beautiful! 🙂
.After the exhibition, we went to the Flower Dome …. those who had visited the exhibition gets 40% discount on the conservatories. Just need to show the e-tickets of the exhibition at the ticketing counters.
The Flower Dome has now been decorated to display the Season’s Greetings theme. I thoroughly enjoyed myself …. breathing in the sight of the pretty flowers and enjoying the coolness of the dome. Below are a few selected shots of what one can see within the dome.
We actually wanted to experience the free blizzard but decided not to wait for it since it starts only at 8.30 pm. So the kids and I decided that we will forgo it and so we heeded home by taking the scenic walk …. passed MBS, went through the silver bridge towards the Float and finally catch the bus at Marina. It was almost 7 pm by the time we reached home …. tired but we all had an enjoyable time … me with the explorations and photo taking while the kids were happy just by being out and spending their times joking with each other and teasing me … yup teasing their ‘poor’ mother hahaha… more like making fun of me 😛
Alhamdulillah for the bonding moments and now looking forward to next week! Yippee!!!
